ABOUT ABOUT

Sandwell Council's Employment and Skills team ‘Think Sandwell’ provide a one-stop-shop solution for all your recruitment and upskilling needs.  Offering impartial advice on apprenticeships and signposting to funded training, support through the recruitment process from writing job descriptions, sifting candidates and arranging interviews.  Our experienced advisors work across all sectors and at all levels; from entry level jobs to management roles.

Our goal is to support local residents to move into sustainable employment and to gain the skills and qualifications to do so. We do this by partnering with local employers to recruit on their behalf; ensuring that your vacancies are filled with suitably skilled and experienced candidates drawn from our local talent pool.

For employers who want to diversify their workforce and tap into hidden talent, we can provide disability awareness training at no cost to the employer and advice and guidance on employing people with disabilities including how to implement low cost workplace adjustment solutions.

This event will provide a walkthrough guide to our service and a taster of our Disability Awareness training.

Who is the event aimed at?

We support businesses of all sizes and from all sectors. Anyone looking to take on new staff, diversify their workforce and upskill existing workers will benefit.

What will attendees gain?

The event will offer food for thought on ways to grow, upskill and diversify your workforce.

Learn about how apprenticeships can be utilised to upskill existing staff at little or no increased cost to the business; reducing turnover and improving your employees’ engagement.

Our Specialist Employment team will provide information on how they can support you to increase workforce diversity within your business and meet Corporate Social Responsibility commitments by employing people with disabilities.
