There are over 1 million trustees in the UK supporting 196,000 charities, but what makes a good trustee and how can charities ensure that the diverse communities they serve are represented in the make-up of their own trustees? Managers of charities and third sector organisations; existing charity trustees; those who might be considering the role of a charity trustee, and those involved in recruiting charity trustees at either Board level, senior management or otherwise. The event will be facilitated by members of Higgs & Sons’ Charity and Not for Profit team who will use their vast experience of all aspects of charity law to focus on the particular considerations of organisations when recruiting and retaining trustees.
This keynote seminar will explore the role and responsibilities of charity trustees, and what charities can do to encourage those from under-represented community groups to consider becoming a trustee.
